On Rambutso, the Hospital is as far as a 4 hour ride away in a small dinghy across open seas. Often too dangerous a trip, the local Health Centre must provide all levels of medical treatment and rehabilitation.
With this GIFT OF HOPE you'll be sending practical medical guide books written especially for developing countries to local Health Centres where local staff often has limited access to resources and support.

On Rambutso roughly half of the population are school age. Being subsistence farmers, few families can afford to provide kerosene lighting for night time studies meaning homework is rarely done.

Petrol drums are the most common way of storing rainwater for drinking on Rambutso. During a dry season that lasts for months, several villages have less than 11 gallons per person. In total, an additional 46,000 gallons is needed.
