Our summer season is fast approaching and we are scouting for enthusiastic, fun loving Instructors. We have a number of positions for the summer season from September/October –April. Please note if you are a local Sydney resident we are open 364 of the year, however winter is a quieter period but there would still be work all year round on a P/T (eve and weekend shifts) basis.
We have three dive centres in Sydney: Manly, Coogee and Mid-City, as well as a dive boat The Sealife V operating from Rose Bay and Manly. During summer the dive centres are open from 8am-8pm plus night diving. There are always social BBQ's so be ready with your tongs to turn those sausages! The boat operates 4 days a week and we also have weekends away diving every month. During an average week we will be running snorkelling tours, try dives, discovers, OWC, advanced, EFR, rescue, divemaster training, bi-monthly instructor programs, all types of dive con, pleasure boat and shore diving, as well as a huge range of marketing activities (so you may find yourself at one of our promotional events). It’s a busy operation and ideally you will have the flexibility to work if needed at any of these centres, pitching in where necessary.
With this in mind we are not just looking for anybody - we have a particular person in mind with these characteristics: Naturally diving is your passion and this is something you live and breath. We expect you to be totally customer service orientated, you’ll have the ability to solve problems yourself, thinking on your feet and be solution, not problem orientated. You will be dealing with a huge range of customers (from 15 yrs to 65+, backpackers, holiday makers, Sydney residents) on a daily basis and as such we expect you to be always be friendly and approachable, encouraging new divers to take up diving on a regular basis. There is a large team of around 50 staff, from divemasters, deckhands, instructors, course directors, skippers, store managers and a head office management team - we all have to support and help one another, so being a team player and having the ability to muck in wherever needed is a keen attribute, so if one day you find yourself cleaning the van or filling tanks you'll be the type of person who will be doing it with a smile. An important part of your day will be in the shop after or before course - you'll be the type of person who is comfortable selling courses, con ed, and most importantly gear. Other key responsibilities will included opening and closing the store, maintaining store cleanliness and stock, replying to customer enquiries by telephone and e-mail, making sales on equipment, booking dives and courses and selling the additional services of PRO DIVE.
As a PRO DIVE team member we know you are our most valuable asset and in return for all your hard work and dedication you will be entitled to some fantastic benefit's.
If this sounds like you and you would like to join our team please submit your CV and a cover letter, to Miranda@prodive.com outlining the reasons why you would be ideal for the role.
